Sweet set

May 24, 2006

The Screwdrivers awoke from their slumber to play a bucolic show with New Earth this past Sunday afternoon. Apparently they also hired children to handwrite their setlist.

We're switching to telegrams

February 5, 2006

I'd like to announce that, in a turn equally tragic and inconvenient, we lost our entire mailing list in a fire. I'm sure there are a few Chair13 fans out there who aren't shedding a tear. Really, though, we were all luck to escape with our lives. Well, it wasn't so much a fire as a server problem, but a flair for the dramatic has always pervaded this salty group, I'm afraid! Anyway, you can sign up for the brand new 2006 model mailing list here. When the fun wears off you can unsubscribe at the same place.

Celluloid Cream

We'd like to thank the Connecticut Eastern Railroad Museum for letting us play on the back of one of their trains last week, we had a fun time. We even got a little video of the soundcheck (ran out of tape before the show, oops), click here to watch it or go to the Music page.

On The Radio

Mar. 29, 2005

Mose and Nate were on the air on WXCI in Danbury last night, we answered some questions and played some songs live in the studio. You can download a 20MB mp3 of the whole 30 minute deal here. Tune in to hear these exclusives:

A Day That Shall Live In Infamy

Mar. 16, 2005

Words can barely begin to express the horror we experienced on Saturday... after the show, both Kevin's car and mine were towed. Actually, those words pretty well covered it. At any rate, the pre-towing part of the show was fun; although I heard at least one person (okay, me) vow never to step foot in Danbury again, that is a threat I could conceivably back away from, were it adequately demonstrated that I could do so without losing face.

In My Grill

Feb. 8, 2005

Saturday's setlist is all up in here. If you would like to write a review of the show and email it to i'll post it on the site here!

Feb. 2, 2005

We'll be playing at the Hat City Ale House in Danbury on Mar. 12 with Mending Wall and a few other bands. Thanks to Mending Wall for setting this up. I just looked for a website for the bar and found this MSNBC article instead. It will be refreshing to play in an environment where our pro-Bush, pro-corporation, anti-hippie rhetoric won't be shouted down for once!

Seriously, it should be a fun show with cool bands, so come. Also, in Pacific Northwest-related news, Shape of a Bird in Transit will soon be available for purchase at Undersea Records. Put your money where your mouth is, big mouth, and support this independent-music-only record store!

Jan. 31, 2005

We were recently chosen by GigaTracks as a "Featured Artist," they favorably reviewed the song "Into the Summer" from the new album. You can download the song yourself from our Music section.

A cool (for 1996) odometer-style counter was added to the bottom of this page. Can an animated "Under Construction" sign be far behind?

Jan. 10, 2005

Happy New Year. We are returning to the Main Pub on February 5, and respectfully demand you come to the show.

Nov. 22, 2004

Saturday's show was a success, read all about it in the archives. We'll have more shows booked soon, I think.

A dream deferred

Nov. 11, 2004

Hey, remember that show I was telling you about that was tomorrow night? Yeah, about that... it's been postponed. We'll put it up on the Shows page when it gets rescheduled, though, and you can still come see us on November 20th in Manchester!

The silver lining on the
smoking gun mushroom cloud

Nov. 8, 2004

We're playing at a victory party this Friday night for the Working Families Party. We have supported Working Families in the past, and a lot of their candidates won last Tuesday, so this should be good. We'll be selling our CDs there and donating most of the proceeds to the "Minor Party with Major Possibilies". It's at Artspace, directions, times, etc. are on the Shows page.

Astute readers of the Hartford Advocate will have noticed a picture (and accompanying review) of a certain band last week! Thanks to the other bands that came to Chris' ramshackle farm. Other (less-published) pictures from this event will be up soon. Also, we have a show on November 20 in Manchester, see you there.

Aug. 6, 2004

Hey, the show we were supposed to be playing next Saturday has been postponed. We'll see you at the Willimantic Street Festival and at one of the many shows we'll be playing in the next few months.

Saturday's show is lovingly retold in the archives.

After 147,000 miles the van has shuffled off this mortal coil. May its rear doors finally both open in heaven.

...and you know there's gonna be trouble

Jun. 16, 2004
