Nate: Never been to the Main Pub before, but it is a cool place, reminiscent (to me anyway) of Gritty's, a bar in Portland, Maine we used to play a lot. We set up right across from the bar, then killed some time drinking beers and visiting with the sizable crowd of friends and strangers who came to see us. I was a little jumpy, first real show in a while. But the place was great, and the vibe was electric!

Now, what you just read was a metaphor. When I said the "vibe," what I really meant was the "P.A. system." And when I said "electric," I meant "electrocuting us." We had something set up that wasn't grounded, and throughout the night Kevin and I were intermittently shocked. At one point I saw a blue light in front of my eye, and my arm involuntarily flailed wildly. Oops! Well, we'll fix it next time. Also, halfway through the first set, Kevin broke a bass string so we had to take a mini-break. Despite these little setbacks, though, it was a great show, well-played (I think) and well-attended (I know). I met Brian, the guitarist from the late Switchstance. Mose and I always enjoyed his guitar playing, I'll have to check out his new band, the Arcade. Also, one of the guys from the Attics (another local band) bought some CDs and watched the entire show, he was really nice. I give him some unsolicited advice to start playing shows immediately, I hope he takes it! We'll be back to the Main Pub in February, see you then.
